Hi.

I never had the ff:...:ff problem. However, i have had mine share of
problems with the 3Com Vortex/Boomerang NICs. Of which 90 percent occurred
on the Win9x/NT4 (with/without dualboot).

WinTel Problems: out-of-blue BSOD, hang-ups, hickups and losing NIC
settings after reboot.
All these problems can be resolved by disabling all the auto-select stuff
i.e. media & speed.
Note: Don't disable these with the 3Com NIC Diag. tool but use the NIC
setup program instead.

Linux problems:
- 3C905B: not detected, solved by 3c59x.c version 0.99E

I have not used WOL yet, so i can not comment on that.
