3c59x crash

I am using Caldera LINUX 2.0.33 on a HP Vectra 400 MHZ.
I have a 3c59B TX Fast Ethernet card.
I downloaded the 99F driver from
http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/vortex.html

I compiled the driver and it loads as 3c59x.c:v0.99F

I am connected to a 3COM superstack switch 3000 (100 mbps).
I am using Hummingbirds NFS client 6.02 on NT 4.0 with SP 3. The NT
client is also in the same 100 mbps switch. No routers involved.
When I copy files, it works for about 2 1/2 miniutes and then LINUX
ALWAYS crashes (froze up, hung, whatever you want to call it) with the
message:

Kernel panic: skput: over: 04851764:1515
In swapper task - not syncing.

I tried it several times and sometimes I get

Aiee: scheduling in interrupt 001246e1

I also tried the older 3c59 card (not the B version) as well. Does not
work.

However, when I plug the LINUX computer in a 3com 10 mbps switch, it
works with no problem!!!

Any idea on what to do?
Caldera suggested I get an Intel NIC
Thanks a lot for you help!
