3C905B problems

Hi;

  I was hoping that someone could help me. We are experiencing problems
with our HP Vectra (Pentium II) labs which are running redhat 5.2 and
kernel version 2.0.36-0.7. The 3C905B cards works intermittently. After
the kernel detects the card, executing ifconfig would result in the
screen getting filled up with the ff: message

Host error, FIFO diagnostic register, 8000
Too much work in interrupt

and the only thing that you can do is to reset the system. On some
occasions it would work just fine, after a few tries. The labs are
connected to a 10BT half duplex switched port. On windows95 environment,
the network card works fine.

If I force the card to 10BT (options=2), we have a moderate success
rate. The card won't work at all when set to MII (options=6), and it
would usually fail if set to auto-negotiate.

I'd appreciate if someone can point me to the right direction for
fixing this.

Thanks;
Edgar
